  Details:
A514GrE/A514 Grade E, a quenched and tempered high-strength alloy steel plate, is a premium material tailored to meet the rigorous requirements of various industrial sectors. Certified under the ASTM A514/A514M-2014 standard, this steel plate stands out for its exceptional strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for applications that demand both high tensile and yield strengths.

Chemical Composition:

The A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plate boasts a precisely balanced chemical composition that ensures optimal performance. Key elements include:

- Carbon (C): Controlled within a specific range to achieve high strength and hardness while maintaining good weldability.

- Silicon (Si): Added as a deoxidizer, enhancing strength and hardness, but kept at low levels to prevent excessive brittleness.

- Manganese (Mn): An essential alloying element that significantly improves strength, hardenability, and weldability.

- Phosphorus (P) and Sulfur (S): Strictly controlled to minimize their harmful effects on ductility and toughness.

- Chromium (Cr) and Nickel (Ni): Added in trace amounts to enhance corrosion resistance.

- Molybdenum (Mo) and Vanadium (V): Micro-alloying elements that further boost strength, toughness, and hardenability.

Mechanical Properties:

The mechanical properties of A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plate are truly impressive:

- Tensile Strength: Ranging from 1860 to 2410 MPa, depending on the delivery condition and processing.

- Yield Strength: Between 1400 and 1800 MPa, ensuring robust resistance to deformation.

- Elongation: 18% to 21%, indicating excellent ductility and toughness.

- Impact Toughness: Exceeding 60J, ensuring reliable performance even at low temperatures.

Heat Treatment:

A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plate is delivered in the quenched and tempered (Q+T) condition, a two-step process that ensures superior mechanical properties:

1. Quenching: The plate is heated to a temperature not lower than 900°C and then rapidly cooled, usually in water or oil, to achieve the desired hardness and microstructure.

2. Tempering: The quenched plate is reheated to a temperature not lower than 620°C and held for a period to eliminate internal stresses and improve toughness without compromising strength.

Available Sizes and Dimensions:

A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plates are available in a wide range of sizes to suit various applications:

- Thickness: 8mm to 150mm

- Width: 1600mm to 3900mm

- Length: 6000mm to 14000mm

Custom sizes and lengths can also be produced upon request, with cutting and deep processing services available to meet specific project needs.

Low-Temperature Impact Testing:

To ensure reliable performance in cold environments, A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plates undergo rigorous low-temperature impact testing. This testing verifies the material's ability to withstand sudden loads and impact at temperatures down to -20°C or lower, ensuring safety and durability in extreme conditions.

Primary Applications:

Thanks to its superior properties, A514GrE/A514 Grade E steel plate finds extensive use in various demanding industries:

- Marine Engineering: Used in the construction of offshore platforms, drilling rigs, and ship hulls, where high strength and corrosion resistance are crucial.

- Engineering Vehicles: Employed in the manufacture of heavy-duty components such as lifting gears, axles, and frames for construction and mining equipment.

- Bridge Construction: Ideal for bridge decks, trusses, and other load-bearing structures, enhancing the overall strength and durability of bridges.

- Petrochemical Industry: Utilized in the fabrication of reactors, containers, and pipelines, where resistance to corrosion and high pressures is essential.
